Yapping Session 02 - Evolution

Let’s yap about evolution today.
Someone mentioned it and I just can’t stay quiet.

So, I’ve heard a few Christians take jabs at evolution, saying it’s nonsense, fake, a fairytale... and then they throw in some myth to replace it. Total joke. One guy even said that as a programmer, he sees nothing but creationism and no evolution. What?

I’m a programmer. Been doing this for years. And all I see is evolution, everywhere. Programming is basically built on it.
They try to argue that programming implies a creator, and that means creationism wins.
No. Just no.

AI is the best counter to that.
You run a training sim - stickman, physics, some rules, a bunch of models in parallel - and what do you get? Evolution. But fast-forwarded. The machine starts dumb, and over time it learns how to behave better, based on what gives it more points.
That’s it. That’s evolution.

You give it a score system - like hunger. Make it lose points if it just stands still. Gain points for movement, or reaching a goal, or chasing something. At first it just sits there losing points. Eventually it figures out it needs to do something. Then it gets better at doing that thing.
Thousands of iterations later, it's mastered the system it was thrown into.
That is literally a simplified, observable form of evolution.

Now let’s clear one thing up:
Evolution as a theory doesn’t mean it’s a wild guess.
In science, a theory is a model backed by evidence, observation, logic, and testing. It means it's the best explanation we have for the data in front of us. It's not something someone just made up on the toilet.

Evolution doesn’t need your ego. It doesn’t care.
And maybe that's the hardest part to accept about it - because beliefs are often built on ego, on specialism, on the idea that you matter in some grand cosmic way.
Spoiler: You’re not special, and human IS an animal.
That’s the uncomfortable truth. Evolution makes no room for divine status or chosen species. It’s just biology doing what it does - adapt, mutate, repeat.

You don’t matter. What matters is how well you adapt, survive, and pass those traits forward.
That’s the whole deal. That's the machine.

And we’re still evolving. Yeah, today. In real time.
Here are some fun examples:

- Lactose tolerance - most adult mammals can’t digest milk. But some human groups evolved to keep that ability. Why? Because they raised cows and drank milk. Simple adaptation, passed on.
- Tibetans and oxygen - they live high up, where oxygen is thin. Their bodies evolved special traits to handle it better. Same thing in the Andes, different genes, same adaptation.
- Sea people (Bajau, Haenyeo) - their bodies changed to handle deep diving, cold water, and longer breath holds. That's some real aquatic evolution.
- Wisdom teeth - lots of people don’t have them anymore. Why? Softer food, smaller jaws, no use for them. Evolution is slowly phasing them out.
- Alcohol flush - some East Asians have a gene that makes drinking alcohol feel like crap. That’s an evolved response too. Possibly as a defense mechanism in high-fermentation cultures.

There’s more - skin pigment variations, eye color mutations, cold resistance, even how fat gets stored or burned. Evolution is always running. Just not always visible unless you look close enough.

So yeah - saying evolution is fake because "it’s just a theory" is like saying gravity’s fake because apples fall only sometimes. It’s ignorant.

Anyway, that’s enough yapping for now.
I’ll be back when something else annoys me or otherwise.

P.S. you can try some of AI Evolution from open online sources, such as Evolution Simulator from MinuteLabs.io .
