Team America: World Police (2004) is a great comedy for adults, with brutal violence and a sex scene.
Oh, did I mention that all the characters are PUPPETS? There's drama, comedy, action, and love! It even has 9/11 jokes and North Korea's Kim Jong-il speaking fruent engrish!
The whole movie is completely over the top, and it's perfectly executed. Great script, great music, perfect acting, and some genuinely epic visuals. For what it aimed to do, it delivered much more.
The story follows Gary, an actor who wants to help save the world. He joins Team America, a legendary team of heroes travelling around the globe to save it. Meanwhile Kim plans to terrorize the world.
Can Gary stop Kim from unleashing so many September 11ths that we can't even count them? You'll have to see for yourself.
I've seen this movie multiple times, and it's still hugely entertaining. I'd happily watch it again.
It may trigger and offend some of the most delicate souls, but for anyone else? Great, funny experience!
